During this session, the investigators rated their own resources as they had done for the scenarios a couple of sessions ago. They applied the rating scale for each category of resource to their own lives and had to be really honest with themselves. I rated my own resources as the investigators worked independently. I wasn't surprised that my resources were stable/secure. It reinforced my feelings of gratitude for who I am and what I have.
We also discussed how our more stable resources can help improve the less stable resources. The investigators described it as a ripple effect... if you start improving your life in one way, it will consequentially improve in other ways. The investigators who chose to share their thoughts and feelings about their own resources were surprised that they were more stable than they thought they would be. In other words, once they looked at their lives through a different lens, they realized they aren't doing as bad as they thought. I think this reinforces the idea that "resources" doesn't just mean money.
